Uh what is the point of well child checks (other than to fleece my insurance company)?

I wouldn't worry about your insurance company. I think they can pay the $100 bucks to your pediatrician every year or so for a well child visit considering they are taking $1000s from you every month even if you don't get sick a day in 10 years.
