What should a guy wear for my first day of 7th grade?

i just switched from a private school to a public school. I was wondering what i should wear. I was thinking about like a red, black and white plaid on-up fleece with a black shirt underneath. I was going to wear semi-skinny jeans. Also, do shoes matter that much? If so, is a pair of black Nike basketball shoes ok. Thanks to anyone.
