University 'Provisional' P/Fail list?

Ok, so the ''provisional' P/Fail lists are up at my uni, and it seems I have just about ped (need to pass 6 out of 8 modules, and I have done just that). However, I am scared to rejoice yet, because it is called a ''provisional'' list....Is it possible for the examinations board to fail someone even after the release of the Pass/Fail list? If so, what is the actual point of the list? Is it safe for me to get happy over my 'pass' yet- relying on just the pass/fail list?
