Should I use this sticky backed Velcro on fleece?

I'm making polo wraps for horses, and wondering if I should use this Velcro on fleece. It says not recommended for use on fabrics, but some people use it anyways. I accidentally bought the sticky kind, and haven't opened it yet. Should I just return it and get the kind I need? Thanks :)
